The city of Kansas City, MO announced an aggressive pre-treatment of the city roads in advance of the storm. KCMO also saying that trash and recycling collection suspended for Thursday and Friday, allowing drivers to turn their attention to snow plow operations.

As reported by KMBC-TV, in addition to the heavy snow there's the possibility of sustained winds between 20 and 25 miles per hour with gusts of 30 to 35 mph, creating "near-blizzard" conditions, and resulting in greatly reduced visibility and dangerous travel conditions.
