
KANSAS CITY - Twenty-five year-old Alex Johnston is facing charges after breaking in and stealing weapons and gear at police headquarters last Monday night.
He allegedly got in through the garage and took several items including a shotgun, a starting pistol, some ammunition, and a pins arms 40 millimeter multi-launcher used for non-lethal crowd control.
Police spokesman Mitch McCoy says, "The Multi-Launcher is a tool utilized for less lethal means and can be used with a variety of things, for example, bean bags and sting ball pellets."
Monday there were two officers standing guard at the garage.
He faces several charges including Burglary 1st, Stealing of a Firearm, Stealing (felony), Stealing (misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession, Transport, Manufacture, Repair or Sale of an Illegal Weapon.
Investigators recovered the stolen equipment at a home in Crystal City and arrested Johnson later in Fredericktown.
