Kansas City, MO – Thousands of KC Metro kids could wake up Christmas morning without a single toy, according to the folks behind the annual Toys for Tots campaign.
Each year, charities submit their numbers and needs to the annual Marine Corps' Toys for Tots drive, with the hope of putting at least one toy into a child's hand. Local campaign coordinator USMC SSgt. Warren Ory says they have 56-thousand area children in-need, and based on their projections, they’re about 20-thousand toys short.
And that means some children would go without. “If I can’t supply what’s requested, then yes, yes they would," says Ory.

He says they’re especially in need of toys for kids under two and over 11. For the older kids, he suggests: sporting equipment, cosmetics, board games, hand-held electronics, and hair straighteners.
You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy now through the 17th at any major retailer or search Kansas City Missouri Toys for Tots online for more drop-off locations.
