KANSAS CITY - Mayor Quinton Lucas joined Kansas City’s Morning News today, where he spoke about federal efforts to open a detention facility in Kansas City.
Lucas says regardless of politics, no one should want a 10,000 person detention center in the metro, in their neighborhood.

Lucas also said that the warehouses being looked at for a possible detention center aren’t made to house people and it could cost millions or tens of millions of dollars to retrofit such a building to house people.
