Mayor Lucas seeks to reestablish and expand commuter rail

KANSAS CITY -  Mayor Quinton Lucas joined Kansas City’s Morning News today, where he talked Super Bowl, as he was among those in New Orleans as the Chiefs fell short of winning a third straight title, falling to the Eagles 40-22.

The mayor also talked about his goal to reestablish and grow a commuter rail system that connects Kansas City with the airport, surrounding suburbs, St. Joseph, Topeka and more. Mayor Lucas has had discussions with Amtrak already, but he notes that this would be a lengthy process.

Lucas also talked about prepping for the coming winter storm with up to 9 inches of snow expected, saying crews will soon start pre-treating the roads across Kansas City.
