KANSAS CITY - Mayor Quinton Lucas joined Kansas City’s Morning News today, where he talked about suspended City Manager Brian Platt.
Platt was suspended with pay after a jury awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to the city’s former communications director, Chris Hernandez. Hernandez claimed that Platt suggested lying to the media and then retaliated against him for his opposition to that idea.
Mayor Lucas met this weekend with Pratt, who’s suspension goes through Thursday. Lucas says a decision is expected in the day ahead on whether Platt will continue in his role, will be terminated by the city or will resign.
