KANSAS CITY -  Mayor Quinton Lucas joined Kansas City’s Morning News today, where he talked about suspended City Manager Brian Platt.

Platt was suspended with pay after a jury awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to the city’s former communications director, Chris Hernandez. Hernandez had filed suit, claiming that Platt suggested lying to the media and then retaliated against him for his opposition to that idea.

Mayor Lucas says a decision on Platt’s future is expected in days, not weeks or months.

You can listen to the entire conversation here:

Today, Mayor Lucas will meet with Acting City Manager Kimiko Gilmore.

Lucas also spoke about this week’s opener for the Royals and on efforts to improve 71 Highway.

Mayor Lucas joins Wink & Amy on Kansas City’s Morning News live every Monday morning at 7:30 on 98.1 fm. You can also listen at KMBZ.com or by finding KMBZ on the free Audacy App.
