Lily Wu
City of Wichita

KANSAS CITY - Wichita Mayor Lily Wu and other local officials are home after attending the 55th annual Paris Air Show. Mayor Wu tells KNSS News "our job as local government is to be connectors. We connect the business community with the opportunities that are available". She notes that Wichita is famous around the world for its "talented workforce". The mayor says "in order for us to maintain our strengths and our competitive advantage we need to keep showing up at these air shows".

At its workshop meeting Tuesday, the Wichita City Council will review of the City's parking garages, covering agreement terms and revenue collections. The council will look at next year's budget. Mayor Wu says the budget will be approved in August, and it will be balanced. Wu says "tough decisions" must be made to deal with a deficit before passage.

Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
