KANSAS CITY - Sedgwick County Commissioner Pete Meitzner was part of a delegation of local and state officials attending the 55th Paris Air Show this month. Meitzner tells KNSS News Wichita's reputation as "the air capitol" is a well-known brand. Meitzner says there is "even some jealousy about the brand. He says "it's pretty impressive."

Meitzner says some 20 states were represented at the show, but the Kansas presentation is "incredibly impressive."

Meitzner tells KNSS News a selling point for Wichita is the smaller companies that contract with the bigger plane makers, more than 400 companies in Kansas. He says if you're riding on any commercial ai there is a piece of that plane that was manufactured in Wichita.

Pete Meitzner commented on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
