Kansas City, MO – Nearly 100 dogs were removed from a breeding facility in central Missouri this week, due to severe neglect at the hands of a formerly licensed breeder, according to animal welfare advocates.
The Humane Society of Missouri, in coordination with Missouri's Attorney General’s office and Department of Agriculture, conducted a rescue of 97 dogs from the facility in Urbana, Missouri.
The former Cridder Creek Kennel and later Little Miracles Kennel in Hickory County was cited for multiple violations of the Animal Care Facilities Act and for operating without a license since January 2021.

On Tuesday, each and every dog when through a medical triage process at HSMO headquarters on Macklind Avenue. It was HSMO's largest rescue of the year. You can watch it here:
“The severe neglect that these poor animals suffered is abhorrent and inexcusable,” said HSMO President Kathy Warnick. “We will do everything in our power to ensure the rescued dogs are rehabilitated and given a second chance at a happier life.”
The rescue breeds include Collies, Standard Poodles, Shelties, Yorkies and others. HSMO is in urgent need or help to care for the dogs and is asking for donations of blankets, newspaper, dog toys, small dog beds, or anything else that can make these animals’ recovery more comfortable.
