Overland Park, KS – A new entertainment district development underway at W. 91st Street and Metcalf Ave. will be built in a unique style using shipping containers. The $9 million project titled SERV Promontory is expected to open later in 2022.

“It’s based on the Iron District in North Kansas City that was created by Chef Rachel Black,” said Cary Taylor with Crossroads Development.

SERV Promontory will be a mixed-use commercial development with pickleball courts, a bar, restaurants and other entertainment, reports the Shawnee Mission Post.

“The shipping container restaurants are manufactured off site, so we can install them as the other work is going on,” added Taylor.

The SERV project is part of a growing redevelopment along Metcalf Avenue, with new apartment and office buildings opened in recent years.
