The Wichita City Council has selected Dennis Marstall to be the next city manager.
Marstall was one of three candidates being considered. The final vote was 5 - 2 to enter into contract negotiations. Brandon Johnson and Mike Hoheisel were opposed.
If Marstall accepts the city’s offer, he’ll replace departing City Manager Robert Layton who announced his retirement this year.
Marstall has been the County Administrator for Lancaster County, South Carolina since 2021. Prior to that he was the Assistant City Manager in Manhattan, Kansas, as well as a Vice-President with United Way and he has held several positions with the City of Charlotte, North Carolina.
