KANSAS CITY - A new law in Kansas allows businesses to charge credit card customers an extra fee to cover their processing charges.
Officials say business must post a clear and conspicuous notice to the customer at the point of entry or the point of sale, in advance of such a transaction.
Also, if you pay with a debit card, you may not be given a surcharge. The DA’s office says debit card surcharges are illegal in all 50 states under federal law.
