Overland Park, KS – The Prairiefire development continues to expand, most recently adding an Andy’s Frozen Custard shop and a Chicken N Pickle, the restaurant chain’s second location in the KC Metro.
Prairiefire opened in 2014 south of 135th Street between Nall and Lamar in Overland Park. The shopping center also includes restaurants, apartments, offices, as well as a natural history museum.

The first Chicken N Pickle opened in North Kansas City offering food, adult-sized yard games and the paddle game called pickleball. The game combines tennis, racquetball and badminton using a neon yellow and green ball on a court that looks like a mini-tennis court.
One of the new court managers put KC’s Morning News producer Mike Phillips through the paces.
“I’m an athlete, and I’ve been humbled by 7-year-old’s beating me,” said Isaiah, who just started working at Chicken N Pickle.
The final phase of Prairiefire is expected to be completed by 2024 and will include a bank, coffee shop and a hotel.
