KANSAS CITY – After a warm start to the week, forecasters are pointing to what could be a stormy Friday in the region.
The National Weather Service says Friday afternoon through Saturday could bring severe storms with high winds, with the greatest potential in central to eastern Missouri.
Winds regardless of precipitation will be gusty, in excess of 35 MPH. Rain showers are expected, though rainfall amounts remain uncertain due to moisture availability.
There is also a threat for severe storms, conditional on there being enough moisture. If thunderstorms develop, they will have plenty of support to become severe.
Elevated fire weather conditions are also expected in central Missouri and areas to the west.
