KANSAS CITY - The search for a missing Kansas man has now officially come to a close, five years after he disappeared.
It was November 4, 2019, when 69-year-old Kenneth Reitcheck of Salina was last seen, leading authorities to issues a statewide Silver Alert in an attempt to find him.
Then in April of 2021, an abandoned campsite was discovered near Salina, along with human remains. This week, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced that with advanced DNA testing, investigators have now been able to match those remains to Reitcheck.
Testing did not determine cause or manner of death.
