KANSAS CITY – A group known as the Satanic Grotto will hold a Black Mass at the Kansas statehouse in Topeka today.
Michael Stewart, the group's president, detailed the event recently on Midday with Jayme and Grayson. Stewart telling Jon Grayson that the event will include “performing rites to the Black Mass and indulging in sacrilegious blaspheme".

The Kansas Catholic Conference says this is an explicit example of anti-Catholic bigotry, and thousands of those opposed to the Black Mass are expected at the statehouse as well.
The Grotto, based in Kansas, states it is not affiliated with any other satanic organization. From their mission statement: We are dedicated to improving our community through fellowship, religious expression, shared education, artistic projects and social activism.
