
KANSAS CITY - Sedgwick County reports first measles case since 2017. Health Officials confirmed the case in an unvaccinated child between 5 and 10 years of age.
The health department is asking anyone who visited Carnicerias El Guero Grocery Store, at 524 West 21st Street North on April 29 between 6:30 -10:00 p.m. to monitor for symptoms through May 20.
The KDHE's latest measles update on Wednesday shows 48 total cases in the state, all of which are in 8 counties in southwest Kansas. The update does not include the case in Sedgwick County.
In Missouri, there have been two confirmed measles cases thus far.
Nationwide, the number is approaching 1,000.
