KANSAS CITY - Storms and a potential tornado caused some damage in the western part of the KMOX listening area on Wednesday. The severe threat was sudden. No tornado watch was in effect prior to the warning being issued.

Meteorologists at KMOX and our FOX 2 partners picked up on what is so far just radar-indicated rotation in west St. Louis County. Dave Murray mentioned cities like Chesterfield, Clarkson Valley, and Wildwood during our coverage. Kehrs Mill Rd. was a point of particular concern.

We'll be checking with the National Weather Service for their determination.

Trees and power lines are reported down in Wildwood around Highway 109 and also Strecker Rd. FOX 2 is reporting damage to six homes in that area.

Ameren Missouri reported more than 6,000 customers had lost electricity at the height of the storm, which also packed heavy winds and a lot of rain. Most of those were centered in St. Charles County, particularly in a zone from Fifth Street to Lindenwood University. That number dropped quickly.

Flash flooding was also an issue in St. Charles County, with issues reported at South St. Peters Parkway and Jungermann and on 364.
