Kansas City, MO – This Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers could be an interesting one at Arrowhead now with three more Chiefs players testing positive for COVID-19.

The Chiefs announced on Monday that tight end Travis Kelce, along with kicker Harrison Butker and cornerback Charvarius Ward are now on the COVID-19 Reserve list.

The unfortunate news came mere hours after Kelce was selected to his seventh consecutive Pro Bowl. The NFL is currently facing its largest COVID-19 breakout since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Chiefs hope to get their other players already on the COVID-19 list to be back for this weekend's game. Those already on the list include linebacker Willie Gay, receiver Josh Gordon and defensive lineman Chris Jones.

According to a new NFL COVID policy, a vaccinated player who tests positive and remains asymptomatic is permitted to return after one negative test. Unvaccinated players must isolate for 10 days. They can only return if they're asymptomatic.

Kelce is vaccinated, so he could play this Sunday. The fate of the other five players is not yet known.
