KANSAS CITY – A suspect is in custody pending formal charges after a weekend triple murder in Kansas City.
Police say they were called to the area of NW 65th Street and Green Hills Road around 12:45 am Sunday on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found three women suffering from gunshot wounds. All three were declared dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as 49-year-old Jodie Hopcus, 24-year-old Haily Hopcus and 73-year-old Sherri Duncan.
Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd will hold a news conference this morning to discuss the case.
