KANSAS CITY - A young cancer patient at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City says he could hardly believe it when Taylor Swift stopped by his room for a visit.

Jace Zembsch has a disease called Ewing sarcoma, which typically affects bones and surrounding tissues, but for Jace it affected his kidneys. Jace's mom tells KMBC 9 News that he was diagnosed earlier this year, just before his 11th birthday.

Jace was dealing with the difficult side effects of chemotherapy and felt his spirit rise when Taylor came in. His mom says the visit was the best Christmas present a kid could ask for, and the superstar was really down-to-earth, spending time talking and lying next to her son.

Jace says he was "flabbergasted" to see her walk in. Swift visited several other kids at the hospital as well.
