KANSAS CITY – Since the inception of the Drug Take Back Day, more than 19 million pounds of unused and unwanted prescriptions have been collected across the nation and have been destroyed.
Held twice a year, the effort encourages people to clear out the medicine cabinet. The purpose, to keep them out of the wrong hands and to keep the prescription drugs out of the water system. As well as cut down on accidents and misuse of prescription and other pharmaceutical drugs.
Drop-offs are found across the KC Metro—Police stations, no questions asked—Drug stores, grocery stores, hospitals... and more.
The #DEATakeBack event runs this Saturday, April 26th, 10am-2pm. Find a collection site at DEATakeBack.com.
