KANSAS CITY - St. Louis craft brewer Urban Chestnut emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year and, Monday, it acquired the former O'Fallon Brewery's brands. That brewer shut down last year after filing for bankruptcy in 2023.
If you miss O'Fallon's pumpkin beer, it'll be back on the shelves this fall.
Urban Chestnut chairman Brian Travers tells the Business Journal that O'Fallon's pumpkin beer was one of the first seasonal beers available in the region. He says they're also expanding their brewing, production and distribution to be a leader in the future of American breweries, as well as upgrading their two brewpubs in Midtown and the Grove.
Business Journal research shows Urban Chestnut is the fourth largest regional brewer by production volume. Tony and Fran Caradonna founded O’Fallon in 2000 and former Anheuser-Busch executive Jim Gorczyka acquired that brewery about a decade later.
