St. Louis, MO – More than 20 people were evacuated from the Gateway Arch in St. Louis Monday evening, after the tram carrying them to the top was stalled.
The issue began mid-afternoon around 3:30. The National Park Service which oversees the Arch brought in an engineer to fix the issue, but they were unsuccessful.
At that point, the St. Louis Fire Department was called in to evacuate the riders from eight tram cars.
There were no reports of anyone being hurt during this.
The cause of the problem still is not known, the Northside of the Arch remains closed while crews isolate the problem.
