KANSAS CITY - Heavy rain Saturday night into Sunday caused flash flooding in both Lincoln and Pike Counties.

Sharon Watson with the American Red Cross of Missouri and Arkansas tells KMOX they are working with Lincoln County on an evacuation center. Watson says "that center has been established by the local community at the American Legion in Clarksville, Missouri to help support the community and we're also providing bottled water and cleanup kits.

Water and cleanup kits have also been delivered to the Elsberry United Methodist Church on North Fourth Street in Elsberry.

Watson tells KMOX, as of now, the Red Cross will be on standby to provide overnight shelter if needed.

At the height of flooding, Lincoln County Emergency Management requested the Region C Boat Rescue to assist with evacuations and water rescues.
