KANSAS CITY - The Wichita City Council discussed a number of topics at Tuesday's meeting, including repairs to a number of city parks.

The playgrounds at Fabrique Neighborhood Park, East Cessna Park, Sleepy Hollow Park and West Meadows Park sustained significant flood damage this summer. However, the heavy rain meant the city saved $200 thousand in irrigation costs, which will cover the $150 thousand in repairs. Reggie Davidson, Park and Recreation Director, said work should begin in the next couple of weeks and weather permitting, completed in the next month.

The council also approved a $200 thousand grant agreement with KDHE to enhance energy efficiency, reduce pollution and improve air quality.
Additionally, the council approved $19.11 million for improvements to water and sewer mains in 2026.
