Wichita City Council to look at new watering restrictions

Mayor Lily Wu
City of Wichita

KANSAS CITY - At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will consider new rules for watering. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News "right now you can only water once a week". The new rules would allow watering every other day with no watering Sundays or between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The Council will also discuss the First Street bridge near Exploration Place, which has shown erosion of its structure. Mayor Wu says the best idea is to replace the bridge sometime late this yaer or early next year. She says the City will be asked to approve $1.3 million for just the design of the new bridge.

The Council will be asked to rename the Lincoln Park in south Wichita to Kansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park.

Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
