Partnering with Square Inc.’s Cash App, Miley Cyrus is giving away a total of $1 million in stocks.

Making the announcement with posts on both Instagram and Twitter, Cyrus wrote, “Nothing is more important than investing in yourself. I want to spread ownership to as many people as I can, so I’m teaming up with @CashApp to give out $1 MILLION in stocks.”
The campaign launched at 10 AM on March 31 and will continue until April 13, or until the entirety of the million dollars is distributed.
Through this partnership Cyrus aims to empower her fan base while reinforcing Cash App’s mission to make finance more accessible, and this is how. As explained by Miley in the posts caption, all you have to do is “Share your $Cashtag & favorite company name for your chance to own,” which she followed up with a few hashtags, "#INVESTINYOU #partner #15YearsofMiley."
A $cashtag btw, is a unique identifier for users of Cash App. Winners will be selected randomly, and as for what you could “own,” well that would be - fractional stocks of publicly traded companies.
A few lucky fans have already started sharing their winnings, which according to their tweets have included $50 worth of Airbnb and Apple stock, among others.
Miley, who also happens to be celebrating the 15th anniversary of her breakout Disney series Hannah Montana, additionally tweeted out a “My First Stock” slideshow with some helpful Investing 101 tips for the investing newbies out there.
