What we all need to kick off the new year is a statue dedicated to a country queen, Dolly Parton!

On Wednesday, a Tennessee state lawmaker proposed to legislation the idea of a statue of Dolly in the Capitol grounds in Nashville.

According to a report by a local Nashville TV Station, Rep. John Mark Windle, D-Livingston, introduced House Bill 135 aimed at honoring country music legend, actress, literacy advocate and philanthropist, who is a native of the area and has done so much not just for Nashville, but the country as a whole.

If approved, the statue would face the direction of the Ryman Auditorium, the former home of the Grand Ole Opry and a venue that Dolly has performed numerous times over the years.

The representative said to a local paper, “At this point in history, is there a better example, not just in America but in the world, of a leader that is kind, decent, passionate human being? Dolly is a passionate person who loves everyone, and everyone loves her.”
