The NFL is diving head-first into sports betting, announcing on Thursday it has agreed to partnerships with Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings and FanDuel to make them official sports betting partners of the league. As part of these multi-year deals, DraftKings and FanDuel are allowed brand exposure on NFL media properties, including the NFL Network and NFL RedZone.
The deals also allow these sportsbooks to use NFL intellectual property and trademarks for betting promotions. In addition, they will be able to use the league’s material, like NFL highlights and Next Gen Stats data, which will help them set betting lines. The companies can create their own promotional content to be featured on NFL properties, such as NFL.com and the NFL App.
In a statement about the deals, the NFL said it looks forward to these partnerships as the sports betting world keeps expanding.
"As the sports betting landscape has continued to evolve in the United States, we have been thoughtful with our strategy and are excited to announce three partners who share the NFL's vision and goals," said Renie Anderson, the Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President of NFL Partnerships. "Working closely with Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel, we will provide fans new and different ways of interacting and engaging with the sport they love."
Not that you needed another reason to watch NFL RedZone, which is one of the greatest inventions in history, but here is just one more thing to love about it.
