Pittsburgh Attorney Todd Hollis says he is filing charges against former Pitt superstar and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
Hollis tells the Post-Gazette that his client, DeVincent Spriggs, was assaulted by Donald over the weekend after an incident at an after-hours club and that the man suffered a concussion and other injuries.
More details are expected to be released at an news conference Wednesday morning.
Donald beat out Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt for the NFL’s 2020 Defensive Player of the Year.
The 29-year-old Donald, a Pittsburgh native, had 15 sacks, 53 total tackles and two forced fumbles last season.
Donald has won the DPOY award three times in his career and is regarded as one of the best defensive players in the history of the NFL.
Drafted to L.A. in 2014 out of the University of Pittsburgh, Donald made a seven-figure donation in 2019 to the University’s Football Championship Fund and the ground floor of the Panther’s athletic complex was renamed the “Aaron Donald Football Performance Center.”
He played high school football at Penn Hills.
We have yet to hear from Donald's attorney's on the incident.
