Noah Syndergaard and Trevor Bauer came oh-so-close to being teammates on the New York Mets. However, after flirting with the Mets for much of the offseason, Bauer instead signed with the defending World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Just a few weeks removed from Bauer spurning the Mets, Syndergaard seized the opportunity to troll the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Friday:
Bauer, who inked a three-year/$102 million deal with the Dodgers, not only responded, but he turned the tables on Syndergaard, citing instances of him responding sharply to fans on Instagram:
Syndergaard is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, which caused him to miss the entire 2020 season. He'll rejoin a rotation that will also include Jacob deGrom, Marcus Stroman, Carlos Carrasco and Taijuan Walker. There's quite a bit of hope in Queens that Syndergaard could be part of a team that eventually meets Bauer and the Dodgers in the postseason.
