The first half of Super Bowl LV has looked plenty familiar for Patriots fans, as Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski hooked up for the first two touchdowns of the game.
The first was a short pass that Gronkowski was able to run in from eight yards out in the first quarter. Then in the second quarter, after a Chiefs offsides penalty on fourth down kept the Buccaneers' drive alive, Brady hit found Gronkowski in the end zone for a 17-yard strike.
With the touchdowns, Brady and Gronkowski added a couple more records to their names. The first touchdown was their 13th such connection in the playoffs, breaking a tie with Joe Montana and Jerry Rice for the most ever by a quarterback-receiver duo.
The second broke another tie with Montana and Rice, as it was their record-setting fifth touchdown hookup in a Super Bowl. Gronkowski's 14 playoff touchdowns and five Super Bowl touchdowns are second only to Rice, who has 22 and eight, respectively, split between multiple quarterbacks.
Some current Patriots were among those who reacted to Brady and Gronkowski taking over, and it's safe to say a lot of Patriots fans have had similar reactions.
