Rob Lowe has gotten a lot of support for a hat he's been wearing lately, with appearances on podcasts such as "Pardon My Take," the "Joe Rogan Experience" and Jomboy's "Talkin' Baseball." He's even had fans asking where he got the hat in question, to which he's provided a response.
A longtime Dodgers fan, Lowe is obviously adamantly opposed to the Astros' sign-stealing ways that very well may have helped them to win the 2017 World Series. In his appearance on "Talkin' Baseball," he spoke of how he and his son, Matt, loved the appreciation that Joe Kelly was getting after throwing toward the Astros, among other things.
But the hosts of "Talkin' Baseball" couldn't last too long without asking Lowe about a less-popular hat he wore that got him roasted all over the internet.
Several of our RADIO.COM Sports affiliates had fun with it; check out the video of Karsch and Anderson at 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit for some hilarious reaction. Lowe himself acknowledged the humor behind the incident, telling Yahoo! Entertainment that wearing the hat was the "best thing I ever did."
Apparently, Major League Baseball wanted to get in on the fun as well. Lowe told Jomboy, Jake and former MLB player Trevor Plouffe that the league sent him a similarly generic hat after his NFL equivalent went viral (22:30 mark).
"Literally, within 48 hours of wearing that hat the MLB sent me their version," Lowe said, though he wasn't wearing it. "I have it in my closet."
He also mentioned that he has a hat which simply reads "sports" across the front -- I can't even imagine how that one would go over if he wore it to a sporting event, although it was the apparent seriousness with which he wore the NFL cap that made it just so funny.
