As Selena has been promoting the new album and making the press rounds for Revelacion the singer revealed her own revelations about the making of the LP. On Vevo Footnotes, the “Rare” singer revealed that almost the entire album was recorded over Zoom.

The video conferencing platform has become the single most important tool to keep people connected throughout the pandemic. From teaching elementary school classes, to college courses, to having a Friday happy hour, Zoom has been the platform of choice for most. However, this is the first time a major artist has publicly announced that Zoom was a crucial tool in the making of an album.

When recording began for the album Selena was going to have to work with people beyond her trusted circle of friends so she explains, “as for the process, we actually recorded almost the entire EP on Zoom due to COVID.”

Gomez collaborated heavily with Elena Rose, sharing that the artist was crucial for the creation of the album and adding that she is an “incredible female writer who I think really understands my heart and what I wanted to say in this project.”

Zoom has clearly not stood in the way of the success that Gomez is expected to see from the release of the new album. Her single, “De Una Vez” debuted at number four on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, making the track Selena’s second top-five Spanish language song.
