Steelers star TJ Watt addressed an incident from Sunday's dramatic win over the Ravens in which he appeared to shout at defensive coordinator Keith Butler on the Pittsburgh sidelines.
Speaking to reporters after the game, which the Steelers rallied to win, 28-24, Watt said the spat was not cause for major concern.
"That's just part of football," Watt said.
Cameras caught Butler and Watt jawing passionately at each other amid a defensive huddle about midway through the second quarter, with Baltimore enjoying a 14-7 advantage.
The Ravens had just knifed through the Steelers' usually stout defense on a nine-play, 80-yard scoring drive, capped by a one-yard plunge by Baltimore back Gus Edwards. The Steelers surrendered four plays of 10 or more yards on the possession.
During the argument, Butler leans across the huddle while shouting in Watt's direction, only to have the All-Pro linebacker, who was sitting on the bench, fire back. Safety Minkah Patrick appeared to pat Watt on the back as if to encourage him to cool off.
The Steelers seemed to harness their flaring tempers in a positive way from there, overcoming a 10-point halftime deficit en route to the pivotal win, in the latest chapter of their great rivalry with Baltimore.
