Just over a year after dropping her very first solo album, Paramore front woman Hayley Williams is back with the second offering from her bouquet of bops.
FLOWERS for VASES / descansos, the not-quite-follow-up to her 2020 release PETALS FOR ARMOR arrived at midnight on February 5, featuring 14 brand new tracks.

"Wrote and played every part on this album myself," the solo artist and Paramore frontwoman captioned an announcement post on social media, which also provided production credits. "Recorded all of it in lockdown last year," Williams said.
"This isn’t really a follow-up to 'Petals for Armor,'" Hayley explained in a press release. "If anything, it’s a prequel or some sort of detour between parts 1 and 2 of Petals. The meaning of the album as a whole is maybe entirely different from diving into each song in particular."
“For me, there’s no better way to tackle these individual subjects other than holistically. The ways I’ve been given time (forcibly, really) to stew on certain pains long enough to understand that they in fact, need to be released…indefinitely," she went on to explain about the new release. "I wrote and performed this album in its entirety. That’s a career first for me. I recorded it at my home in Nashville, the home at which I’ve resided since Paramore released 'After Laughter.' 2020 was really hard but I’m alive and so my job is to keep living and help others to do the same.”
Williams "leaked" the first single, “My Limb,” to a superfan at the end of last month, apparently driving to their home herself to leave behind a candle and CD.
Why the candle? Well, along with new music, Hayley has also relaunched her previously sold-out, Limited Edition APOTHEKE candle.

“Some of my proudest moments as a lyricist happened while writing ‘PETALS FOR ARMOR,’" Hayley said upon her first solo release in January of 2020. "I was able to get my hands a little dirtier than usual when it came to instrumentation," she explained of her process apart from Paramore.
Hayley's PETALS FOR ARMOR was a top album of 2020, arriving at #1 on Billboard’s Alternative and Rock Albums charts upon its release as well as top 10 debuts worldwide.
