'Unsolved Mysteries' podcast attempts to uncover the details behind a chilling cemetery haunting

Unsolved Mysteries

In the first episode of the "Unsolved Mysteries" podcast from RADIO.COM's Cadence13, experts try to uncover the mystery behind various hauntings at Ball Cemetery in Springfield, Nebraska.

Visitors of the cemetery have trespassed to get there - ignoring signs indicating that they could be arrested if they enter the grounds at any time of day. Risk-taking ghost hunters have dared to step foot in the mysterious cemetery anyway.

"Unsolved Mysteries" Episode 1: The Haunting of Ball Cemetery

In the podcast, there are reports of various strange ongoings in the cemetery, with many feeling tugs or pulls on their clothing while present or coming out of the experience with inexplicable bruises or scrapes.

When a group of friends enters the cemetery to check it out for themselves, they find themselves face-to-face with knocked over tombstones. They all held hands in an attempt to "call the spirits."

"We started hearing this weird noise," the narrator mentions. They immediately noticed a windmill, which began spinning in two different directions. Upon exiting the cemetery, they notice many in their group have cuts on themselves.

Convinced that the legends of Ball Cemetery are real, the group of friends returns to the grounds to convince some of their other non-believing friends. Upon entering the grounds, they heard a girl scream.

Their car did not come out unscathed - when they re-entered a lit area, they noticed symbols all over the front of the car along with handprints on the windows.

"The reason that paranormal investigators even investigate at night is because there's less sounds, noise pollution, let's say. Ghosts tend to be a sensitive energy. And so at nighttime, it's just kind of when everything can come out and make itself known," David Rodriquez, a paranormal investigator says.

Rodriguez entered Ball Cemetery to find out about the ongoings there himself.

He used an EMF detector that picks up on any electromagnetic fields that could be dangerous to humans. "We're looking for little lights to be blinking to give us verification that something is there with us," he explains.

While there shouldn't be any EMF present at Ball Cemetery, Rodriguez still found significant EMF responses using his gadget.
