
Due to the fires raging across the West Coast in California, Oregon and Washington state, the United States Postal Service has temporarily closed its post offices in those states.
"The Postal Service has temporarily closed Post Offices in California, Washington and Oregon due to wildfires and high winds," the USPS said Monday afternoon.
Fast-moving wildfires throughout the San Francisco District in Northern California have resulted in the temporary closure of the following United States Post Offices.
Several Post Offices in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties are temporarily closed due to rapid wildfires throughout the area. Customers impacted by these closures may retrieve mail at alternative pick-up locations.
The following Post Offices are closed until further notice:
Zenia, 26531 Ruth Zenia Rd., 95595-9998
Blocksburg, 27984 Alderpoint Rd., 95514-9900
Alderpoint, 410 Alder Ave. 95511-9402
Customers are directed to the following office for retail service and to pick up their mail and packages.
Garberville, 368 Sprowl Creek Rd., 95542-3140. Hours of operation: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed Saturday. Customers are reminded to bring proper photo ID to make mail and package pickups.
Additionally, the following Post Office is also closed until further notice:
Gasquet, 10360 Us Highway 199, 95543-9900
Customers are directed to the following office for retail service and to pick up their mail and packages.
