Now, not only are we all one vaccine closer to seeing Mimi live in person again, but the “Save The Day” singer showed us that even during important moments throughout the pandemic she is still serving us with those high notes.
In the video, Carey says she feels, “excited and nervous a little bit,” but she promptly rolls up her sleeve as she’s in “filming mode” and hits a perfect high note as the first injection goes into her arm.
Clad in an all-black fit, knee-high leather boots, and a mask, Mariah turned the “medical narrative” into a fashionably iconic performance that served as a rallying moment for people across the U.S. to get the vaccine.
During the video, Mimi reflects on the state of the pandemic today versus where it was a year ago when she was making hand-washing tutorial videos with her children. Just before getting her vaccine, Mariah says to her 10 million followers, “We’re still in this battle together.”
