What to expect from the 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Special

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Special will honor the 2020 inductees by celebrating their achievements and contributions to music.

The 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Special will take place Saturday, November 7 at 8PM ET. The special will air on HBO and will also be available to watch on HBO Max. Additionally, the Rock Hall will be hosting a special interview series on their YouTube channel in the days leading up to the special.

Dave Grohl will kick off the evening with a speech introducing this year’s inductees. Additionally, the list of guests includes Luke Bryan, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Miley Cyrus, Billy Gibbons, Don Henley, Jennifer Hudson, Billy Idol, Iggy Pop, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Chris Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Brad Paisley, Bruce Springsteen, St. Vincent, Ringo Starr, Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron, Nancy Wilson and more.

For the first time in the Rock Hall’s history, there will be no performers at the induction ceremony. President and CEO Joel Peresman cited travel and COVID-19 restrictions as a reason for not having performances this year. Additionally, he called the process of having artists performing with no audience or just family and friends “boring” and also said “it didn’t make any creative sense.”

As we mentioned earlier, there won’t be any performances at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Special. The Rock Hall has unveiled an impressive list of pre-event specials including a conversation with Jon Landau and interview with C.J. Wallace celebrating the induction of The Notorious B.I.G. on November 5. On November 6, Nine Inch Nails will have a conversation on their Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube channels. On Saturday, November 7, the Rock Hall will host a virtual red carpet hosted by Carrie Keegan.
