You can't talk to Country superstar Sam Hunt without bringing up sports. That's especially true this week as the world prepares for the "Big Game" this Sunday between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Speaking with RADIO.COM's Nick and Kristen in the Morning in Portland, Sam told us who he'll be cheering for during Super Bowl LV.

For those unaware, Sam was an avid football player throughout high school and college and even tried out for the KC Chiefs in 2008. Immediately following that attempt, Sam picked up and moved to Nashville to start what would become a stellar music career.

So, is he secretly rooting against the Chiefs? Diplomatically and always appreciative of the opportunity the Chiefs organization gave him, Sam says he "won't be disappointed if any team wins. I'm simply more a fan of players than teams," he explained. "I don't really have a team, traditionally."

That being said, he admits "It's been pretty impressive to watch what Tom Brady has done... Mahomes is a really impressive player too. It'd be cooler to see Brady win a seventh Super Bowl for me, so I'm gonna pull for the Bucs I think."

As sports fans battle over whether Brady could be the greatest QB of all time, Hunt realizes himself that the "debate is getting harder and harder to have. I'll be honest, I was a little skeptical at the beginning of the year. So, he put that nay-saying to rest pretty quickly with his last win over the Saints and getting back to the Super Bowl."

Sam is excited for Sunday, and knows the importance of the historic game. Sharing a quote that struck him recently he explains, "somebody said this is like 'watching Jordan play LeBron,' and I thought that was an interesting way to put it. Potentially the greatest Quarterback ever, playing against a young Quarterback with the potential to be one of the greats."

It's not just the players that Hunt is excited for this year. With the limited capacity in the stadium due to COVID, there will apparently be extra cameras incorporated into the broadcast. "My barber was telling me... because of the limited capacity, they're able to bring in all these fancy cameras that they use to make movies so the visual experience is gonna be a little different this year. So, that'll be interesting."

"I think it'll be a game that'll go down in history," says Sam. "It'll be a fun game to watch."
