After taking a considerable amount of time off following the success of their hit single “10,000 Hours,” Dan + Shay aren’t making fans wait as long to hear more new music.

All day long Friday, February 5, we’ll be playing Dan + Shay’s new song “Glad You Exist” as a RADIO.COM World Premiere. Listen starting at 12AM ET on your favorite RADIO.COM Country station on RADIO.COM.
“To us, ‘Glad You Exist’ is more than just a song. It’s a message of gratitude and hope,” Dan + Shay wrote in a statement posted on Instagram. “A message to everyone in our lives: our fans, our friends, our families, to remind them all how grateful we are to be on the planet at the same time. It’s truly remarkable when you think about it."
The idea for the song came from a note Dan Smyers kept on his phone. “I had the phrase ‘glad you exist’ written down on my phone and I always caught myself saying it to my wife,” he tells RADIO.COM.

“I brought it to Shay and we started kicking around ideas. We thought it’d be a really cool song and to just turn it into a message about how grateful we are for everybody in our lives.”
“It’s taken on new meaning for us not being able to see everybody in person. This song is super close to our hearts and we’re glad to get it out there into the world.
“‘Glad You Exist’ is one of our favorite songs we’ve ever written,” Shay Mooney added.
“When we finally got to record it, it was during quarantine. The entire timing of how the song came together was not only good for our fans, but also for us. It’s important to remember that we need to tell the people that we love, that we love them and we’re glad they’re around. I think being away from your family and not getting to see the ones that you love, we were reminded of that even more.”
“This song has taken on a new meaning,” Shay added. “We’re very proud of it and hope our fans like it as much as we do.”
