Twenty One Pilots have announced their first new album in three years, Scaled And Icy, set for release on May 21 via Fueled By Ramen.
Today, the GRAMMY Award-winning duo of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dunn share the record’s first single, “Shy Away,” available now on streaming platforms and spinning as a World Premiere all day on your favorite Audacy Alternative stations.

Scaled and Icy follows the duo’s 2018 Platinum-selling album TRENCH, and is available for pre-order today in a number of different formats, with a special box set edition ready for pre-order on April 9.
Twenty One Pilots have also announced their very first global livestream event to coincide with the release. Dubbed the Twenty One Pilots - Livestream Experience, the special broadcast is scheduled for a worldwide audience on release day, Friday, May 21 at 8PM ET.
Tickets for this sure-to-be-mesmerizing experience, featuring brand new tracks and favorites from their expansive catalog, are on sale today via live.twentyonepilots.com where fans can also catch a special, pre-show virtual experience as the official livestream draws near.
The new record is a product of the band’s now long-distance recording relationship, produced mainly by Tyler Joseph while under lockdown over past year in his home studio, with drummer Josh Dun engineering the album’s beats from across the country. Prevalent themes of anxiety, loneliness, boredom, and doubt can be heard throughout the new release – it’s not just your pandemic-damaged psyche playing games with you – resulting in “a collection of songs that push forward through setbacks and focus on the possibilities worth remembering.”
