The two-piece suit was worn by the music legend just once at the historic New Romantic hang-out The Blitz Club, and has been in the possession of legendary promoter Steve Strange after it was left in the London club’s cloak room. Since then the suit made its way into the hands of musician Jayce Lewis, who is now responsible for arranging for the suit to be auctioned off later this month.

Apparently, Bowie left the Issey Miyake-designed suit behind after noticing several cigarette burns on it, after changing into a brand new fit. Despite the possible cigarette burns, the suit is expected to reach bids between £10,000-£15,000, which in dollars equals somewhere between $13,700 - $20,500, give or take a few hundred dollars and cents.

Auction Antiques’ specialist Stephen Ferguson, noted that “unusual items with a famous history are always the best and as a lifelong Bowie fan, this piece ticks all the boxes, as it will with other Bowie fans.“With the V&A hoovering up Bowie’s entire wardrobe, this is a rare thing to appear on the open market, so we’re doubly excited to be offering it.”

The V&A being The Victoria and Albert Museum, which according to its website “holds a unique collection of David Bowie photographs, album sleeve artwork and memorabilia, charting the creative process of one of the most pioneering and influential performers of modern times.”

So if you love David Bowie, and have that kind of cashflow then go ahead and peep the auction and be ready to bid on March 25 at 10AM GMT, which on the East Coast of the U.S. is around 4PM ET.
