Carly Pearce has been pouring her heart and her truth into her music, and she's finding that her fans are relating to all of that in a big way.
“I saw this sign," Carly recalls of a recent concert, in a statement from her label. "It was on cardboard, so it was kinda hard to read, but I just kept feeling like I needed to know what it said. And this girl kept waving it during ‘Never Wanted to be That Girl.’
"So, I finally asked her from the stage, what did her sign say. And it said, 'We were dating the same guy for two years. Your album saved us.' And what she said was, they didn’t even know about each other. For two years they were dating the same guy and now they’re friends. And it was just this crazy moment where you’re like, oh my goodness, I just am amazed at how this song has connected with people.
"And I’m just so proud of what this song is doing and I love [my duet partner] Ashley [McBryde] and it’s just so cool.”
