Chandler named best city for working from home

Nearly a year into the Covid-19 pandemic, and Americans are settling into the idea of working from home. For some, remote work is temporary, for others, it's long-term, and some companies are even toying with the idea that when it's safe for employees to return to the office, to continue to have employees continue to work from home a couple of days a week. This means that employees have sought out ways to make their home workspace as productive as an office, but still as comfortable as a home.

But according to ApartmentGuide.com, not every city is as equal in the world of working from home, with apartment dwellers facing unique challenges in terms of space, noise, convenience and infrastructure, and so they've made their picks for the Top 10 Cities for Working from Home.

Taking the top slot? Our own Chandler, Arizona.

Overall factors considered in making their determinations included the size of the population, the average rent for a two-bedroom apartment, the average square footage of a two-bedroom apartment, the average cost of a family cell phone plan, and internet speed.

Factors that aided Chandler's rise to the top were its proximity to the city, but that it's still far enough away foster a calm work environment, as well as the presence of corporations like Intel, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Northrup Grumman and NXP Semiconductors.

Coming in at #7 is nearby Gilbert, Arizona, which earned marks for its safe, comfortable, family-friendly living.
