Just back from their performance at London's C2C Festival, Country band King Calaway (Chad Jervis, Caleb Miller, Simon Dumas, and Chris Deaton) joined Audacy backstage at Tortuga Music Festival in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to give us an update on their exciting 2022 plans.

The band tells Audacy hosts TC & Dina B, "it's crazy to see how many people love Country music all over the world... it's amazing. It's funny, the English and European audiences are very attentive. They will listen to the music, just be in the moment, not recording on their phones. Then when the song is done, they go wild!"

Up next the band will be going on tour with Brooks & Dunn, an opportunity that they're still reeling from at this moment. “I don’t even know how that happened... At first, we thought they were joking, but I don’t know how they did that... If they were asking us in person, they’d like, ask the question and do the mic drop... because they know the answer."

Fans will be happy to know there's also new music on the way. "We’re working on some really cool stuff... There’s this guy, he’s called Zac Brown, and we’re working with him. He’s going to be helping put together this next project. It’s been amazing working with him so far. This is breaking news, this is the first time we’ve ever said this. It's exclusive, so hopefully, our label doesn’t drop us. We’re hoping that if we talk about it now, they’ll be forced to release it sooner!"

"We’ve always looked up to Zac, so to be able to work with him hands-on, it brought out something completely different in us. It feels more genuine than ever, so we're really excited about it. We have a few shows with Lainey Wilson in May. We love her to death. We all kind of came up together at the same time."

Audacy's Rob + Holly, (well, Rob couldn't fit so just Holly) also got a chance to talk to Chad, Caleb, Simon, and Chris backstage at Tortuga about the release of their latest EP, Midnight, where they explained, “we had just played a show at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, and we actually went live on Instagram in the run-up to it. We were the most hyped people in the room," says Simon. "We had champagne," adds Chris. "It was show night, so we got to see the reaction immediately." SImon adds, "We premiered the songs that night, and when we came on stage the songs came out at midnight."

"It’s a group effort," says Chad about finally getting their music into fans' hands. "It’s a big plan to come together to release music... It can take as short as a month or as long as a year, but when it comes out it’s worth it. You know that's the right time to do it."
