For hopelessly romantic “Twilight” fans, knowing Taylor Lautner got engaged last November was heartbreaking enough. But now they’ll have to deal with the fact that his fiancée, Taylor "Tay" Dome, was not even on Team Jacob.

To be more confoundingly specific, Lautner, who played Jacob Black in the franchise, said during his recent interview on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” that Dome was firmly in Robert Pattinson's Team Edward camp.

"Yes, she was," he begrudgingly admitted. "She's made up for it."

As Entertainment Tonight reported, Clarkson brought the topic to light when she showed a photo that Dome posted around when the pair got engaged, showing her as a 10-year-old wearing a “Twilight” hoodie. At that moment, Dome was firmly beholden to Pattinson's character, Edward Cullen.

"I'm allowing her to make that mistake," Lautner laughed. "It's in her past. So, she's good now. But she was not Team Jacob, unfortunately. Still love her!"

And no, Lautner did not meet Dome while prowling the woods on all fours. His kid sister just brought her along to a party.

"She always said she was going to introduce me to my future wife," Lautner said of his sibling. "And she actually did. She was like, 'I have an idea. Throw a game night, invite me and some of my friends over, and I'll bring Tay. She'll just be one of them and you guys can meet.' We hit it off, and the rest is history."

Lautner is now going from howling at the moon to barking at high school students, as he’s playing a football coach in the Netflix movie, "Home Team," produced by Adam Sandler and starring Kevin James (“King of Queens”).

The comedy is based on the true story of New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton’s suspension from the NFL.

Before she could let him go, Clarkson couldn’t help but note that, as Dome will be taking Lautner’s surname, they will both have the same first and last name for the rest of their lives.

"We're literally going to be the same person," Lautner laughed.
